The Hertfordshire Scout Mountaineering Section is here to help provide a balanced programme of opportunities for all Scouts within Hertfordshire to gain experience and provide opportunties to explore the mountain environment.? We run a number of courses throughout the year based at our mountain centres?at Coetmor Mill in Snowdonia and at Lochearnhead in the Scotland.

Hillwalking in Scotland.
Week long courses held at Lochearnhead.? All transport, catering, accommodation, equipment and instruction included in the cost of each course. ?Activity permit assessment can be arranged. Attending a course will allow you to sign off several elements of DoE and Scout Awards.
Initial & Intermediate Mountaineering Course
Introductory hillwalking for Scouts over 13years, Explorers, Network and Leaders.? No need to come as a group or bring a leader.? ?4 days of walks learning the basics of navigation and route finding before going out on a 3-day wild country camping expedition.
