The news has recently been dominated by the earthquake and its aftermath in Haiti. The Association Nationale des Scouts d'Ha?ti (ANSH, National Association of the Scouts of Haiti; in local dialect Eskout Asisyen Scouts d'Ha?ti) have been assisting in many ways as they did after the devastating hurricane Jeanne in 2004. The Association

London 2012 will depend on up to 70,000 volunteers to make sure the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games run smoothly and successfully.

Hertfordshire will play host?to events such as Canoe Slalom at Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre, River Lee Country Park, as well as being the base for competitors, visitors and support services.

Opportunities will therefore exist for members of Hertfordshire Scouts to get involved. Watch this space for details.
