6-14 Skills Booster Day - Hitchin - Sun 18 April 2010 PDF Print E-mail

As part of the County team re-organisation, Skills Booster Days will now be made in available in each term in locations around the County. Building on the success of the Cub Skills Days – this is first Skills Booster Day open to anyone that helps with Beaver Colonies, Cub Scout Packs or Scout Troops – including Young Leaders or any other adult in scouting who wishes to attend.

All the sessions will have learning objectives linked to the Module training scheme – but are designed to compliment rather than replace Module training. It may be possible to validate your new knowledge with your training advisor.

Funding for County Activity Assessors

Funding is available to help County Activity Assessors gain the qualifications and attend technical update workshops that they require to hold their Assessor posts. This funding pays 50% of the course fees for National Governing Body Courses leading to qualifications required for the role of County Assessor. It also nows pays 50% of travel costs for these courses from 1st July 2008. In return for this funding, Assessors are required to carry out their role for a minimum of two years. Applications for this funding should be sent to Gilwell Park using the application form available below.

Details of the NGB qualifications required to be a County Assessor, and therefore the qualifications that funding is available for, are listed on pages 3 and 4 of the factsheet FS120104 Adventurous Activity Permit Scheme - Approved Assessors. Update workshops are defined in the same factsheet.
