Safeguarding Awareness (morning session)

Mandatory Safeguarding Training for appointment review.

The aim of this training is to raise the awareness of adults in Scouting of their role when working with young people. The safety of the young person is paramount, but also the need for every adult to be aware of situations in which they may find themselves.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Accept the importance of The Scout Association’s Child Protection Policy
  • Accept their role in protecting young people from harm
  • Discuss how the code of good practice should be implemented by themselves and other adults in Scouting
  • Explain the steps to be taken where there are child protection concerns and allegations
