Dear Leaders and Scouts,

It is with a heavy heart, that after much consideration and deliberation by the organising team, that I have to announce the cancellation of this year’s Green Beret Challenge.  We had left the decision to cancel for as long as possible hoping that the situation may change, but to no avail.

Together with the restrictions still in place on large outdoor gatherings and the fact that Green Beret Challenge involves using communal areas, shared equipment and close proximity of teams, we do not feel that we can ensure the safety of Teams, Leaders and Staff, whilst trying to provide an enjoyable competitive weekend for all.

The added tasks of cleaning everything after single use would be an impossible task that certainly compounds our ultimate decision.

The team would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during what has been a really tough year for all.  We hope to welcome everybody back next year, which again will be subject to the current safety guidelines in place at the time.

Yours in Scouting
